OPENING AND CLOSING CEREMONY

This year Chingucon’s opening and closing ceremony theme is A Journey Through K-POP Generations. We’ll travel through k-pop history first 1st gen all the way to 5th gen through both a Music Show - and Variety Show - segment

Music Show

We are looking for dancers/dance groups to perform the choruses of K-pop songs from the 1990s to the present. We need songs from each generation (1st gen -2002, 2nd gen 2003-2011, 3rd gen 2012-2017, 4th gen 2018-2023, 5th gen 2024-). One performer/group does not have to perform one song from all generations, we can divide the songs among the performers according to their preferences.

Variety Show

Are you great at guessing k-pop songs? Do you have a fun k-pop story time to share? Or a surprising talent you could show off on stage? The final programme will be shaped around the performers’ wishes and skills. The most important selection criteria are that you want to perform and are ready to give it your all!

DANCE BATTLE

K-pop Dance Battle – the competition arrives at Chingucon! Groups get to showcase their skills and challenge each other with the power of K-pop songs. In this competition, the most important things are not the group's technical skills, but their amazing charisma and energy, as well as how quickly they can catch onto the songs! The winner of this competition will be voted by the audience.

Applications for the Dance Battle will open in May 2026!

PROGRAMS AND GAME ROOM

Do you have an amazing idea for a panel, lecture, or quiz related to Korean culture? Do you want to host a game similar to those on Korean variety shows? 

Suggest your idea to Chingucon by sending an application either to become a program presenter or a game room program host!

PROGRAM PRESENTER

Do you want to talk about your interests or share your experiences related to Korea and Korean culture? Some examples from previous events include K-pop quizzes, exchange experiences from South Korea, lectures about K-dramas and Korean literature, and Korean language lessons. 

GAME ROOM HOST

We also have a smaller game room, where Korean variety show style program can be organized in smaller groups. Do you wish to host for example a Mafia or Whisper Challenge game?  Suggest your favourite concept and apply to be the game host! 

The application is open 13.4.- 31.5.2026 (23:59). Every applicant will receive an answer as soon as possible after the application period. Questions related to the application can be sent by email to ohjelma@kpopsuomi.fi

Open stage is a low-threshold performance opportunity. You can come to the stage to perform dancing, singing, theater, or whatever you come up with - as long as it is related to Korean culture. No previous performance experience is necessary - everyone interested in performing is welcome to the Open stage! You can apply as an individual or with a larger group!

Pre-registration is required for the Open stage and it will be open in May 2026. For now, there are 15 spots available.
