[Exclusive Interview] Kang Cheon-il from WILD WILD

K-pop Suomi Ry first exclusive interview is out!

Thank you for all your questions, now is finally time to reveal the answers and share them with the WILD WILD fans.

1. What can we expect from the show?

This European tour marks Wild Wild's first time performing in a given country, so I'm incredibly excited and looking forward to it. Immerse yourself in the powerful energy and individual charm of the Wild Wild cast in this show. And you can look forward to the Boiler Room encore.

2. Have you been to a sauna? If so, did you like it?

I always go to the sauna after working out. I spend time in the sauna after my workout, anticipating the performance that day. Personally, I find that a short time in the sauna allows me to let go of everything and recharge.

3. If you were a Disney prince, which prince would you be?

If I were a Disney prince, I'd want to be Aladdin, flying around the world on a carpet. But on the other hand, I'd also like to be Prince Philip, the Sleeping Beauty. I hope everyone in Helsinki will always think of us and be happy after seeing our show.

4. Have you ever received bad feedback about your career choice?

There were times when people who hadn't seen our show looked down on us. But in those moments, we act with even greater confidence. Haha. After seeing our show, we often receive feedback like, "It's the best." Since our slogan is "for women 19 and older," some people have preconceived notions, but after seeing our show, things change. Come experience it for yourself!

5. How does it feel to perform on stage in front of a large audience?

The Wild Wild exclusive theater in Korea seats 300. So, when we go on tour and perform in front of audiences of 1,500 or more, it's even more exciting, my heart pounding, and I feel a bit nervous. When the audience is large, we do our best to bring our energy to the very back of the auditorium.

6. How did it feel when the Boiler Room music video received so much attention outside of Korea?

I'm so happy that our original song, Boiler Room, is receiving so much love not only domestically but also internationally. We worked incredibly hard filming our music video, so I'm even more proud. I just hope we continue to receive even more love from people around the world.

7. What is your favorite thing to do in your free time?

In my free time, I try to relax at home as much as possible. Our performances are physically expressive, so not getting enough rest can lead to injuries on stage. I also enjoy vacations. During my downtime, I just relax by the pool, tanning without thinking about anything. And then I work out.

8. Have you ever felt uncomfortable while performing on stage?

There's nothing uncomfortable about performing on stage. You have to concentrate during the show, so there's no discomfort. However, there are times when the actors approach the audience and slip money into their buttocks during the performance, which doesn't feel very pleasant. Please feel it with your eyes and ears, and enjoy the show with us.

9. Would you like to try pole dancing?

When we first performed, pole dancing was part of the modern dance scene. The reason we don't do it now is because the production team excluded it from the scene to prevent injuries. We sweat a lot, so if even a little bit of it drips onto the pole, it could be dangerous. Also, we're quite muscular, so we're a bit heavy. There are technical limitations. Pole dancing is so captivating, but we have to go a long way, so I think the production team boldly excluded it.

10. How challenging is it to learn choreography?

Learning choreography isn't difficult. Practicing and sweating with my colleagues is incredibly rewarding and enjoyable. Since we're actors and models, not dancers, our practice pace isn't particularly fast, but it's still enjoyable to work together on the craft.

11. Are there any specific things you would like to do?

One thing I'd especially like to do is quickly go to Helsinki and meet the audience. Any first experience is exciting and anticipated. Haha. Finnish audience, let's meet in May.

12. What kind of viewers are their favorites?

Our show is a collaborative effort with the audience. I hope you'll create a wonderful show with us. Don't just sit and watch, shout, dance, and create it together. Don't overdo it, respect the cast, let go of your heavy hearts, and feel, shout, and join in the performance. You'll be the best audience. I love this kind of audience!!!!
