ACCESSIBILITY AT THE CON

Tickets and personal assistants

  • If you have an EU issued disability card of A- grade, you can bring one (1) personal assistant or a handler to the event for free. If you require a personal assistant or a handler to come with you to the event, please contact us about it before the event via email ( info@kpopsuomi.fi ).

Arrival to the venue

  • The main entrance to Verkatehdas is accessible.

  • There are multiple parking spaces reserved for people with reduced mobility. You can also find a few parking spaces in front of the main entrance to the venue (10min time limit) for easier drop-off.

The venue and program

  • The majority of spaces in the venue are accessible. In order to get to Lämpiö 2nd floor, Kokoushuone 1 , Kokoushuone 2 and Studio you have to use the elevator located next to the Information desk.

  • In order to get to Werkki you have to take an elevator.

  • Our Vanaja - hall has viewing spaces for wheelchair users. To gain access to the 2nd floor of the hall you need to take an elevator. Spaces that don’t have any stairs are located on the 1st floor parquet and on the 2nd floor row 22. Unfortunately the 3rd floor of the hall isn’t easily accessible.

  • Induction loop is located in the Vanaja - hall in rows 5 - 15 and in Kokoushuone 1 and 2. You can check the clearer coverage are from Verkatehdas’ accessibility page.

  • Lämpiö 3rd floor isn’t easily accessible unfortunately.

  • Verkatehdas’ café is accessible from the main entrance to the venue.

  • Our event doesn’t have a separate quiet room.

  • Random Play Dance - will be held in Lasipiha, during which the paths will be cleared. During RPD the music can get quite loud, and it can be heard all the way to the 2nd floor.

  • Programs that are panels will have reserved spots at the front or near the induction loop for those who need to utilize those.

Toilets

  • During the event all toilets are unisex.

  • Easily accessible toilet is located on the 1st floor of the venue.

Allergies

  • Please take others into account and don’t overuse strong perfumes.

  • We have a separate snack area for our visitors in Lämpiö’s 3rd floor, where unfortunately is no easy access. Because of this we have a separate snack area designated for people with reduced mobility in Lämpiö’s 2nd floor.

  • Snack areas are for visitors to eat their own snacks. Unfortunately we can’t supervise or restrict any allergy inducing food in these spaces.

Accessibility card

  • We offer accessibility cards at our info desk, which is voluntary.

  • Accessibility cards are meant to help indicate that a visitor has special needs, so our staff can take you better into account and make your stay as smooth as possible.

  • Anyone can ask for an accessibility card, and you don’t need any proof to gain one.

  • By showing your accessibility card to our staff you can for example bypass the queue or get escorted to the easily accessible spaces.

  • We try to acknowledge and take into account all benefits that EU’s Disability card includes, and the Suolistosairaudet Ry (intestinal disease org’s) toilet pass.

As a volunteer

  • If you’re a volunteer or think of joining as a volunteer, please do! Please contact us and tell us all your special needs in your application or email to tyovoima@kpopsuomi.fi and we can find you a specific position that would work with your needs!
